I'm not sure his teachers were convinced but I think this is a very mature drawing. Look at that attention to contour and pressure.

Zayla's 5th Birthday

The other day I read a book to Kainoa about what kids do well. at the end I asked Kainoa what he did well, what he liked and he said, "Your life. I'm in your life."
Yesterday Kainoa and I were sitting on the couch together in the morning and Kainoa said "You know I love you. I love your chin, I love your mouth, I love your nose. Those three things."
I love this kid.
